Meet Cheryl

It is a privilege and honor to encourage and equip adults to successfully meet and overcome life's challenges .

I earned my Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology in 1975 from Olivet Nazarene University, and a Masters of Arts in Guidance and Counseling in 2003 from Bowling Green State University.

I'm an  Ohio licensed Professional Clinical Counselor #E0007948, member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, and International Board of Christian Counselors. I am certified as a Professional  Life Coach (AACC), Splankna therapist and Professional Clinicial Christian Counselor (IBCC). I have completed the Sexual Addictions Certificate program through the AACC.

My Story

Although the process of becoming a counselor did not follow the time line I had intended, it clearly was the one that has caused much personal growth, enabling me to be most effective.

Being a wife and mother was the primary focus during the 26 years between my undergraduate and grad school days. Marriage, raising children, multiple relocations, dealing with terminal illness in my family, caring for elderly parents, and job losses were some of the lessons learned best through life experience!

During this time I had become involved in various women's Bible study groups and participated in leadership for almost 12 years.  The leadership and Biblical training I received was invaluable. However, I recognized that additional skills would be necessary to help fully identify and address the issues that were preventing adults from thriving . My return to the classroom was with the intention of coupling Biblical principles with proven counseling tools.

My mission is to model Christ's ministry of freedom, release, and recovery. What a privilege it is to walk with adults as they learn to embrace their value and begin to thrive in life!
